Jon Commers

I run a small consultancy providing public finance and strategic services to clients involved in urban planning, development, engineering, and public work.

Donjek founder and principal Jon Commers has over ten years experience working in public finance and policy analysis. Involved in the financing of over one billion dollars of public projects as project manager for a national advisory firm, Commers also brings substantive experience working in the policy arenas of transportation, education, and taxation.

In addition to his work with Donjek, Jon serves as executive director of Strong Towns, an entrepreneurial, nonprofit organization committed to big change in American land use (online at www.strongtowns.org). He is a member of the planning commission in Saint Paul, Minnesota where he has been active in the areas of transportation planning and tax base generation. He is a past Fellow in the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute Policy Forum, and has taught as an Adjunct Professor of Economics at the College of Saint Catherine. Jon holds a Master's degree in Business Administration in Finance (University of Saint Thomas, Saint Paul, MN) and a Bachelor's degree in History and Political Economy (Carleton College, Northfield, MN). He holds a Series 65 investment advisory license.

Jon lives in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA with his family.
